Abuja, June 27, 2025 – The All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially confirmed the resignation of its National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, CON. The resignation, which takes immediate effect, was tendered to allow Ganduje to attend to what the party described as “urgent and important personal matters.”

In a press statement issued today from the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja, the APC expressed appreciation for Ganduje’s service and leadership since his appointment in August 2023, following the resignation of his predecessor, Senator Abdullahi Adamu.
Ganduje, in his resignation letter addressed to the National Working Committee (NWC) via the National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Basiru, extended his gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for the opportunity to lead the ruling party at the national level. He also expressed his appreciation to the party for the support he received during his tenure.
Following Ganduje’s exit, President Tinubu has directed the Deputy National Chairman (North), Hon. Ali Bukar Dalori, to immediately step in as Acting National Chairman. This arrangement is to remain in place pending the convening of the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting, which will officially deliberate on and ratify a substantive replacement for the position.
Dr. Ganduje’s resignation marks a significant transition within the APC’s leadership structure as the party navigates internal reorganization and prepares for upcoming national engagements.
